Treating the Epidemic of ADHD

ADHD Non-Prescription Alternatives

ADD (attention deficit disorder) and ADHD (attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder) have become epidemic, and the available solutions are not promising. We offer an exciting alternative at Alterra by Herbasante.

How can one increase the ability to concentrate, improve cognitive function and memory, alleviate nervousness, agitation and irritability, and reduce mental fatigue, heightened emotions and stabilize mood all at the same time?

Read on for are some answers!

First, however, let’s address the problem. Children absorb information like sponges. But they’re also prone to disorders involving attention, concentration and hyperactivity. These have risen to epidemic proportions.

How have we gotten here?

Let’s take a look at the alarming rate of ADD/ADHD in children and even in adults. Before the late 1990s, we heard very little about these conditions. Back then, when children were hyperactive, they’d go play outside, expend some energy feel good again.

Today we juggle an ever-increasing number of tasks in a day. To get all our paid work and personal tasks accomplished, we now undertake in a typical day what would have taken us several days just a few decades ago!

Attention deficit disorder is related to the way our lives have been invaded by computers, smartphones, wireless communications and electromagnetic charges in the air, and the overload of video games and television. Also affecting us negatively are GMOs, refined food, junk food, the over-consumption of sugar, mineral and vitamin deficiencies, hormonal disorders, dysbiosis and intestinal parasites (under diagnosed), breakdown of the nuclear family, lack of discipline (laxity of exhausted parents), stressed-out parent/couple model, anxiety, lack of attention and love, problematic psycho-social relationships, intimidation … so many cumulative factors contributing to the frequent diagnosis of ADD/ADHD.

Not to mention task overload among teachers in schools where irritation has reached levels never seen before. Hence their impatience and inability to care for hyperactive children is high. Today’s schools are made for children who are meant to sit quietly. They’re not allowed to expend their energy naturally, by moving about. So we drug them, sadly, and this option has many side effects.

Several solutions exist and are therapeutically valid and effective.

One of the most common deficiencies found in children with ADD/ADHD is in DHA which nourishes the brain and contributes to memory, focus and concentration (1).

Alterra by Herbasante’s Neuromega contains 2750 mg DHA, essential to function for our brain as  20% of the brain is made of DHA.

For maximum effectiveness, children 1-13 years take 1/2 tsp. (2.5ml) daily with a meal. Children 14-18 years take 3/4 tsp. (3.75ml) daily with meals.
